Dead Island 2 is not in development, at least not yet.

earlier this week, a source told IGN Germany Yager Development, which is currently being finalized Spec Ops: The Line for launch in June, had been used to develop Dead Island 2. This is not the case, said Guido Eickmeyer, development director with publisher Deep Silver from the original game.

Dead Island is not in development, at least not yet.

"We work with one of Yager in Dead Island 2 or have an agreement with Yager on any project right now," he said.

the developer does not rule out working with Yager in the future, saying there one day "legitimate shot" company will be a team. He even said a future relationship could be in a project related to Dead Island franchise.

Eickmeyer went on to explain that Deep Silver has not Dead Island 2 "in the design or production with external partners" and is considering options for a suite.

Dead Island was developed by the Polish shop Techland and sent in September 2011 to review the overall positive scores. The game has shipped 3 million copies and has hosted several additional packages. Speculation on track erupted in November when Techland filed a trademark application for the afterlife.
