05/25/2010 Front Mission Evolved, and Q - More Story, Gameplay Details

Producer Shinji Hashimoto share more information about the next chapter in a series of Front Mission.

For many years the Front Mission series has set an intriguing combination of strategic games and know-it-setting mechanism for giant robot fans. Series is now set to return with the new game, Front Mission Evolved, which will break new ground as the Third-person shooter (with a nerdy robot setting). Producer Shinji Hashimoto explains.

GameSpot: Give us an overview of Front Mission Evolved. What are the most important new features in the game?

Shinji Hashimoto:

Front Mission Evolved take the series in a completely new territory. Third-person shooter territory.

GS: Which aspects of previous games in the series are you most looking to build or improve?

SH: We gave the agility pack more energy in order to improve Wanzer mobility. Mobility Backpack from previous games can only be used as a means to travel to high ground, but in this game, we 've strengthened skate mode, which allows you to glide along the ground.

GS: Why do the following Front Mission games Third-person shooter?

SH:

GS: As the strategic elements of the previous game affect the gameplay in Evolved?

SH:

GS: Tell us about the role of a character played in the game 's history. Who is your character, and where this symbol is placed in terms of Front Mission?

SH: The main character, Dylan, was recently appointed Wanzer pilot. Because his father was involved in the construction of wanzers these Mechs were part of his life since childhood. Thus, it has Wanzer knowledge, techniques and management skills, which would put a veteran pilot of shame. He is very funny and honest, and behaves like a young guy at times.

GS: As a character in the end ultimately in the war between the factions?

SH: New York, suddenly attacked while the protagonist working prototype. In order to save his father, he moved to New York in the test model and begins to coordinate with the military among the confusion. He must now speak out against the enemies who attacked the town.

GS: One of the most enjoyable aspects of the previous games in the Front Mission configuration wanzers. How many options will be available in Evolved?

SH: I can 't give actual figures yet, but 10 Wanzer models and dozens of weapons will be available. Battle skills customizable, and now more freedom in disguise, and coloring wanzers.

GS: Can you give us some hints on what 's plans for multiplayer?

SH: The experience is very similar to the standard arrow. Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and domination, some of the [mode], that players may be familiar.

GS: Finally, there is everything you 'would like to add about Front Mission: Evolved?

SH: I 'D would like to assure the existing fans of the series, that they shouldn' t worry about changing the genre. World remains true that it has always been, wanzers still one of the major components, and you can even become a pilot himself. There is also a convenient mode for those who Aren t 'familiar with the action of the game.

Multiplayer will have a few competitive modes.

For those playing Front Mission for the first time, you can enjoy Front Mission Evolved as autonomous action shooter, even if you Aren 't familiar with the rest of the series. It would be nice if the aliens can give this game and try to know the Front Mission and his world.
